Alix is a storyteller as well as a visual artist who works in several mediums, including photography, illustration and painting are among her favorite mediums. Much of the artwork published as Greeting Cards and Puzzles is more on the photographic side, with illustrative elements.
Though, Alix earned a AA in Multimedia Arts Visual Design, and a BA in Communication studies Digital Media many years ago and worked as a Graphic Designer across several industries, including broadcast television. Though, her passion always returned to a love of storytelling, combining fairytales and folktales with the modern world
In 2020, Alix started pursuing an MFA from Hollins University in children's literature, for Picture Book Writing & Illustration. This meant creative writing, reading, and also writing critical papers about various children's books from early editions of fairytales to writings about picture books thru YA, delving deeply into literary themes, plots & characters.
In 2023, Alix earned a Certificate in Children's Book Illustration from Hollins University!
October 2024 - MFA thesis is completed! On track to graduate with MFA for Picture Book Writing & Illustration (May 2025 it becomes official!) & Currently seeking a magical Literary Agent who loves fantasy fairytales, creative non-fiction and Jewish folktales.
